Then, on Thursday of this week (Day 112), I made the difficult decision to return my new camera for a refund. (I know...first world problems, right?) After almost 4 weeks of struggling with focus issues...and trying to write it off as a lens problem or just plain "user error"...I realized that it had to be the camera. I had such high hopes for this new Pentax K3 II. I was loving the larger megapixels, more focus points and what I hoped would be faster and more accurate autofocus. I ended up deleting almost 50% of my shots! The images that were in focus, however, were tack sharp, so the potential for greatness was definitely there, and from the reviews I've read, other owners are very pleased with their purchases. I'm so disappointed that I was sent a dud. Perhaps I'll re-order in the future.
But the most devastating part of this week was learning about three unrelated, unexpected deaths of a family friend and two other members of our extended family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to these families as they struggle to find answers and peace.
