Project 366 {WEEK 47}

Thanksgiving has come and gone. The decorations have been packed away, the leftovers have been eaten and the calories are still waiting to be burned off. Ironic that the biggest feasts of the year, (at least in my world), all occur within weeks of each other, just as our weather gets cold. I guess my options are to either eat less or brave the elements (or the treadmill), and since eating less doesn't really sound like too much fun, I suppose I'll have to put on my game-face and keep logging the miles.

Now the only decision I need to make is what pies to bake for Christmas...

Being a veg head, this obviously didn't end up on my plate today, but it sure seemed to make the rest of the gang happy.

This is how I do Black Friday.

I'm in the home stretch for this year's Photo-of-the-Day project; 6 weeks left, which means only about a month until Christmas, yikes!

What a great week this was! (Aside from the fact that that I pulled muscles in my lower back Sunday morning, and the Green Bay Packers got spanked later that day...) the weather was still mild and gorgeous, which put a huge smile on my face. Until Saturday, that is, when we woke to a blanket of snow and freezing temps, a 30 degree swing! I'm ok with the cooler temps as we approach Thanksgiving week, I'd just prefer a more gradual transition. It felt like I fell sleep in South Carolina and woke up in Alaska. Maybe it's just Wisconsin, but personally I think Mother Nature has a strange sense of humor.

Despite what the calendar says, I'm not ready to call it quits on my outdoor adventures. I dug out my cold gear this weekend, but I'll have to wait for the 30 mph winds to calm down before I venture out. After all, I'm not that crazy, but I will have to find a way to burn off all the Thanksgiving calories that I'll be packing on this week.
Picture
Day 318 {Soft} - Cotton Candy Sky

I wonder what sweet surprises this day has in store for me.

Picture
Day 319 {Rough} - Pie Prescription

Just what the doctor ordered for this rough, back-achy Monday.

Picture
Day 320 {From Where I Stand} - In the Light

"And when I wake up in the morning, There is a twinkle in my eye; That maybe someday you will meet me in the light." -Katie Herzig

Picture
Day 321 {Quiet} - Monochrome Morning

This morning I woke up in a monochrome dream.

Picture
Day 322 {Free Choice} - Let Life Surprise You

I learned today that the most perfectly planned surprises are the ones that we never planned for.

"God has a reason for allowing things to happen..."

Picture
Day 323 {Busy} - Puzzle Helper

This 500 piece puzzle should keep us busy for a while. It will be the perfect project for this chilly weekend.

Picture
Day 324 {Enveloped} - Enveloped

If I wasn't the snow, how could I fall for you?

Am I the only one having strange dreams lately? I have enough trouble sleeping as it is, the last thing I need, when I finally do fall asleep, is to dream about sliding down the side of a mountain, in the dark, unable to get a foothold, or being locked out of my house, in my pajamas, trying to find a neighbor to help me break in.

What gives?

I guess I can blame it on the phase of the moon, or perhaps the double-dark chocolate brownie I ate an hour before bed. Whatever the reason, things are getting weird.

Sleep really shouldn't be so exhausting. And then I'm always up, wide awake, at 3 a.m., 2 hours before my alarm. I usually sit looking out the window for a while, watching the stars and wondering how many other sleep-deprived crazies are doing the same thing. Then it's back to bed for 2 hours before my day officially begins. I can't explain it. I just deal with it.
Picture
Day 311 {Sunset} - Colors in the Sky

"I wonder if you're wandering outside, Still tracing with your fingers all the colors in the sky. I'm looking out my window for a clue, leaving a sign and hoping it finds you." -Katie Herzig

Picture
Day 312 {Words} - A Scandal

"To Sherlock Holmes she is always THE woman..."

Picture
Day 313 {Change} - Change Your Tune
Picture
Day 314 {Evidence} - Busted

Someone's been sneaking chocolate chips...

Picture
Day 315 {Games} - Oh, the Games People Play

Life would be so much easier if everyone played by the same rules.

Picture
Day 316 {Remember} - Remember Pizza Night?

I remember a time before I was aware of allergies and food sensitivities, when EVERY Friday night was homemade pizza night. Well tonight I stuck my tongue out at the dairy/gluten monster and made some killer homemade 'za. BOOM!

Picture
Day 317 {Wide Angle} - Puppy Love

Shot a quick session with my neighbors today and finally got to take some pics of their sweet pups. MY GOSH, can you feel the love?!? Wish I could've stayed all day.

Goodbye miserable October, hello lovely November. So far your temperatures have been mild and your sunsets have been amazing...keep up the good work! I'll take every 50+ degree day I can, it will be a long time before we see that number on the thermometer again. I say the same thing every year as we transition from flip flops to fleece: if only winter could pass as quickly as summer.
Picture
Day 304 {Wooden} - Let's Roll

Did a lot of baking this weekend...this was the start of a pumpkin pie. First of the season!

Picture
Day 305 {Pretend} - Pictures of You

"I've been looking so long at these pictures of you, that I almost believe that they're real..." -Robert Smith Seriously though...how many 11 year old kids even know who Robert Smith is?

Picture
Day 306 {Me} - Welcome November

70 degrees on November 1 means one last outdoor workout in shorts and a tank top. The funny part is that tomorrow I'll be bundled back up in a sweatshirt and gloves! Crazy Wisconsin weather.

Picture
Day 307 {Next to Me} - Game 7 Line-up

Fuzzy Blanket, heating pad, baseball and popcorn...a winning combination.

Picture
Day 308 {Rule of Thirds} - Three For Me

This is how I define the Rule of Thirds: three for me!

Picture
Day 309 {Relax} - Friday Night Lights

Hello weekend.

Picture
Day 310 {Time} - Sign of the Times

"You've been in the wind, you've been on my mind...Take your time, let the rivers guide you in."
